Yoga with Suzanne

Suzanne is a Registered Yoga Teacher.  She completed her Yoga Teacher Training (200 hours) in July 2017, after having experience working in recreational programming, both with UBC Recreation (2015-2017) and the UBC School of Kinesiology (2013-2015). In both these recreational roles, she provided oversight and developed programs for those who are normally left out of recreational programs and facilities.  With this background, Suzanne brings to her yoga teaching a different style: she is focused on evidence-informed practice that has inclusion and accessibility as an everyday part of class.  She invites to her classes any body, no matter how strong, flexible, or able, as she believes that yoga can offer something to every body and mind if taught in the right way.

She is open to 1 on 1 teaching as well as group lessons. She currently teaches in-person at Ocean Mountain Yoga and the Head Injury Society in Campbell River, BC and she also has been teaching both in-person and online for the North Island Students’ Union (NISU) for more than 2 years (teaching North Island College students).  She’s done additional yoga sessions and workshops, such as a Stretching at the Desk workshop for North Island College (NIC) staff and faculty, as well as a yoga class for a class in the Department of Accessible Learning (DAL) at NIC.
